"Global View, Local Heart"
The Royal Dutch/Shell Group's* global commitment to sustainable development means that Shell Companies seek to carry out their activities in ways that combine environmental protection and enhancement with social and economic evolvement. Shell recognizes the enormous range of need around the world and aims to ensure that its social investments are both effective and appropriate to the business.

Shell gives emphasis in its support activities to community and social need. Shell's social investment program:

  • Reinforces its commitment to sustainable development.
  • Maximizes the value to those who receive our support.

Acting Locally
The Shell North Pacific Cluster (SNPC), encompassing Shell Guam, Shell Marianas, and Shell Palau, is committed to actively engage in opportunities to build strong, mutually beneficial links with the people in the regions where we conduct business.
Community activities are undertaken by Shell business in Guam, the CNMI, and palau through The Shell Foundation.

The Shell Foundation supports activities which provide benefits for Guam, Saipan, and Palau communities and which are consistent with Shell's national and international objectives on corporate citizenship. Such support seeks to strengthen long term relationships between Shell companines and the communities in which we operate.

Under-pinning our activities is our clear belief that:

  • Social investment is an integral part of good business practice.
  • Society, government and the corporate sector cannot successfully operate independently of each other. The meeting of community aspirations in the social context requires the effort, creativity and resources of all three elements working together.

SNPC has reviewed its existing social investment strategy and has established a new set of contribution guidelines which will more closely reflect its changing focus and sphere of interests in the business.

*The expression 'Royal Dutch/Shell Group', and 'Shell' are used to refer to the companies fo the Royal Dutch/Shell Group as a whole.
